Happiness. It is what this life is all about. To be happy and to make those around us happy. When we are happy, it is easy to make those around us happy.Babies are the best spreaders of happiness. It is hard not to be happy when you have a big toothy grin looking at you.

When you step into my studio, I want you to feel like you can breathe. Not one of those fast breaths, but the kind that comes from deep within and refreshes your entire body. I want you to feel full of peace and at calm, where for these next moments, it is not about the busyness or about the stress.

The moment you first lay your eyes on your first baby, in an instant, you discover a love like no other. You suddenly understand what you have heard your friends with children talk about, and have a new-found appreciation for your own parents.

Now some of you may know that I'm an Android girl, but I know many of you are iPhone, so when one of my fellow photographers, Julia Kelleher, gave me permission to share this, I knew you'd want me to.
 

The days and nights start to melt together, while at the same time stands still every moment you are with your new love. Her big brown eyes look into your soul. She may not be able to talk, but you know her voice.

Candid photography is raw. It is uncut moments in time. It is a person getting on the bus. It is a split second where someone is doing something in their natural environment and not posing for a camera. It is not perfect photographs featuring perfect posing and lighting.

I am in the business of capturing moments. Our lives are made up of moments, and the best ones define us. They are the moments that make our hearts overflow with love and happiness. Those are the moments that I strive to capture during sessions. 

For 9 long months, you carried your baby directly under your heart. The minute he entered the world you held him in your arms, and breathed in the moment. During the first weeks and months, you will hold your baby will spend most of his time on your chest or in your arms, as close to your heart as possible.

As we grow as artists and humans, we must push the limits that we previously set for ourselves. Perhaps the hardest areas to push the limits are the ones we are most familiar with. I have been shooting indoor maternity session for years.

We've talked about how we must never stop growing and pushing your limits, as it relates not only to life but to my experiences at the Illuminate Retreat in Fredricksburg, Texas. The Illuminate Retreat put on by the Motherhood Anthology was an experience that I will never forget.

For Aisling and Wayne, the greatest loves in their lives are blind. They took the first steps towards those loves without seeing, without knowing, and just trusting. Aisling and Wayne met on a blind date. They grew and nurtured their love from that day forward.
