The first birthday session at Reflections is one of the most joyful photoshoots we do. There's nothing staged or stiff about it. We let your one-year-old lead, crawling, laughing, discovering, and yes, making an absolute mess of a cake if that's what you want.
As Burlington family photographers who specialize in milestone sessions, we've built this experience so that nothing falls on you. Wardrobe is here. Hair and makeup is set up when you arrive. You just show up and celebrate your baby.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Here's what your first year session looks like:
Our baby sessions are play-led and personality-first. We create a relaxed, playful atmosphere and let your baby show us who they are. Giggles, curiosity, wobbly first steps, and all.
Want a cake smash? We do it beautifully and with zero cleanup stress on your end. Want something more classic and clean? We do that too. We plan your session around what feels right for your family.
Everything is ready when you walk in. Wardrobe for baby, you, and any siblings is here at the studio. Hair and makeup is available for mom. Props, blankets, accessories, all covered. Bring your baby's favourite toy or comfort item and we'll work it in.
Your images are revealed a week after the session. You'll come back to the studio to see your photos together. We choose your favourites, design your artwork, and I handle printing and installation in your home. This also gives you time to use the images on thank you cards and display them at the party. It's one of those details that makes the whole experience feel extra special.

About two weeks before your baby's first birthday is the sweet spot. That timing means your photos are ready in time to display at the party and use on thank you cards. Don't leave it too late, sessions fill up quickly, especially around popular birthday months.

No. The studio has everything covered, soft blankets, accessories, and all the essentials. Just bring your baby's favourite toy or comfort item if there's something that helps them settle, and their daily necessities like diapers and a bottle.

Digital images are available for purchase as a set, or as part of your artwork investment. The more artwork you choose, the less the digital images cost. We go through everything together at your reveal appointment, nothing is left to guess.
