The first birthday session at Reflections is one of the most joyful photoshoots we do. There's nothing staged or stiff about it. We let your one-year-old lead, crawling, laughing, discovering, and yes, making an absolute mess of a cake if that's what you want.
As Burlington family photographers who specialize in milestone sessions, we've built this experience so that nothing falls on you. Wardrobe is here. Hair and makeup is set up when you arrive. You just show up and celebrate your baby.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Here's what your first year session looks like:
Book a quick planning call. A 10-minute chat to answer your questions, pick a date, and decide on cake smash or a classic session.
We plan it together. We help you pick outfits for baby, you and any siblings from our studio wardrobe. We handle the cake and styling too.
Show up & enjoy it. Christine does your hair & makeup. Karen lets your one-year-old lead, crawling, laughing and (if you want) making a happy mess of the cake.
See your photos & bring them home. One week later, at your image reveal & design appointment, we help you choose your favourites and design your artwork.
Most families book about two weeks before the first birthday, so photos are ready for the party and thank you cards.

Most families invest $1,550+ for a Signature session with their artwork & digitals, with payment plans of 2, 3 or 4 months. Looking for something smaller? Simplicity sessions start at $900+. Every session starts with a free planning call, so you know exactly what to expect.

About two weeks before your baby’s first birthday is the sweet spot. That timing means your photos are ready in time to display at the party and use on thank you cards. Booking early gives you the most dates to choose from, especially in busy birthday months.

No. The studio has everything covered, soft blankets, accessories, and all the essentials. Just bring your baby's favourite toy or comfort item if there's something that helps them settle, and their daily necessities like diapers and a bottle.

One year cake smash photography at Reflections is fully set up for you. We handle the cake, the styling, everything.

Yes, professional hair & makeup for mom is included in the Signature session, along with wardrobe for the whole family. With a Simplicity session, it can be added for $150. You walk in, we take care of you, and you leave feeling like yourself.

Absolutely. First birthday sessions are a wonderful opportunity to capture the sibling bond at this age. Just let us know who's coming so we can plan accordingly.

Digital images are available for purchase as a set, or as part of your artwork investment. The more artwork you choose, the less the digital images cost. We go through everything together at your image reveal & design appointment, nothing is left to guess.
