As a mom of four, I try my hardest not to worry. But there are times where I wonder and where I hope. Feeling this space, knowing I don’t have all the answers but hoping my best will be the very best.

And when I talk to my first time mama clients, thoughts are always dancing around in their heads. Thoughts like “Do I have enough clothes for the baby? Will I be able to breastfeed? Is his room ready? Will I know what he wants? Can I give him every single thing he needs?”

The fact that you’re asking these questions tells me you’re going to be a good mama.

You already want to love him so well. You want to give him all that he needs. You want to help him discover his dreams. You want to kiss away his fears at night and you want to play with him in the day. You want to tell him the words he needs to hear most and you want him to know it is all going to be okay.

But you wonder if you’re ready. You wonder if you will ever be ready.

And then you feel him subtly move within you. And you know that you’ve got this baby, and you always will. It's all going to fall into place.

You can do this, and it’s going to be wonderful.

Hey mama, I'm Karen Byker, a pregnancy photographer in Niagara, Ontario, Canada. I am obsessed with babies, relaxing in my hammock and watching my kids enjoy our backyard pool.

I am a mother of four that understands the overwhelm of every day. I've learned through the years how to embrace and enjoy the beauty of it. I believe it’s possible to enjoy this busy life we chose.

I've helped hundreds of mamas to slow down, pause and use photography as a way to remember these days. Let's chat about documenting the beauty through your chaos.
