Wide Awake and Curious: A Newborn Session in Grimsby

This baby boy spent most of his session wide awake, staring straight into the camera with a serious, thoughtful look, like he had already figured out a few things about the world.

It made for one of the most striking newborn photography sessions we have had in our Grimsby studio in a while. You expect the sleepy curled-up shots. You do not always expect a baby who looks like he is studying you right back.

Those Pretty Eyes

Newborns are usually pretty sleepy in their first couple of weeks, so getting a baby this alert during a session is a bit of a treat.

His eyes are the whole story in this first photo. Big, dark, and so focused, almost like he is concentrating on something just out of frame. Newborns take in more than people realize, even in those very early days.

One More Close-Up

This final image brings it all together. The same alert eyes, the same little hand near his cheek, but pulled in so close you can see every detail. The fine hair at his hairline. The slight crease near his eye. The exact shade of his eyes before they potentially change color, which happens with a lot of babies during their first year.
