Surround Yourself With The People Who Matter Most

A few weeks ago I was just back from vacation and struggling to serve everyone around me. I was juggling parenting, work, taking care of my home, hobbies and trying so hard to get through a great book.

And I made mistakes.

So I had to step back and reassess my goals. I had to allow myself to say no. I missed a timeline, and let it go willingly. Then I made a decision.

To surround myself with the people who matter.

Because who we choose to fill our life with really matters.

So I decided to change things around, adjust my goals. Make time for things that were really important to me and those I love. Once I did that, it all fell into place. I had a plan that I felt good about. Now I feel like I can give everyone my best.

My husband inspires me with his constant support and solid work ethic. My kids inspire me with their energy, weird questions and their laughter. My clients inspire me with their patience and parenting skills. My job is fun, a great creative outlet for me, and so rewarding. There is so much beauty in the chaos of our lives.

So keep people close to you who inspire you. People who push you, who challenge you and who call out the greatness that God has put inside of you.

And let’s strive to be those people. The people who inspire and encourage, who challenge and call greatness out in whoever we see. Let’s be people who listen more than we talk. People who fight for hearts more than we complain. People who make time to see people just as they are and love them Right there. Just as they are.

Then we can feel free to enjoy our lives, and to create!

The fall calendar is now open. There may be room for your family too. Find more info here.

Hey there mama, I'm Karen Byker. I live in my hometown of Grimsby, Ontario, Canada. I photograph through all the stages motherhood - pregnancy, newborn, toddler and children well into their teen years.

I am a mother of four that understands what it’s like to be busy, but I've learned how to embrace and enjoy the beauty of it.

I have helped hundreds of mamas to slow down and create artwork so they can remember these special times. Let's chat about documenting the beauty through your chaos.
