Let's Never Stop Hugging Our Children

The kind where we wrap them up so tightly in our arms, fully present and fully here, it as if our hearts are dancing with one another. Where we whisper in our ears that we love them with our everything. Where we giggle with them and let them know the joy that happens when we are fully embraced. Where we have those sweet and tender moments of belonging and also those wild, giggly, tackling moments of grace.

No matter the day, no matter the chaos that happened, the tears that stumbled out onto cheeks, the voices that were raised, the fear that was felt, that hugs and embraces and little bodies carried in our human arms would mark our every-day lives with these little lives.

Because more than anything, I think we all want our children to not just know, but to feel such a wild and true sense of belonging. Like there will always be a safe place found in our arms.

Let’s raise our kids in homes where they would know that they are fully held, carried, embraced and loved. And that no matter what they do or is done to them, that’ll never be taken away.

Because this is a home where hugs stay.

About This Baby Session

Amy, Chris and little Ferris are from Beamsville, Ontario. This is their second session with me. You'll find Ferris' adorable newborn session here. He's one of the cutest babies I've ever seen, if not THE cutest (my own kids aside, of course!)

This is a family that truly never stops hugging. They're so attentive, kind and loving to each other and it totally shows through in their images.

Little Ferris is a very blessed baby to be born into this amazing family. I can't wait to watch him grow!

Client Testimonial

"From the moment you walk into the studio, Karen makes everything wonderful. She makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. She's full of such positive energy it pours throughout the entire session. We just had our second photo shoot and we love being there and can't wait to go back." - Amy Perkin

Ferris' Album Design

Hi there, I'm Karen Byker from Grimsby, Ontario, Canada. I'm obsessed with newborn baby yawns, giggling kids and fancy flavoured tea.

I'm a mother of four that understands the overwhelm of the every day, but I've learned how to embrace and enjoy the beauty of it. I believe we should be able to enjoy this life we chose.

I've been a professional photographer since 2005. I've helped hundreds of mamas to slow down, pause and use photography as a reminder to take a breath.

I'd love to talk with you about documenting the beauty through your chaos. Let's chat!
